Royal Caribbean International announced April 20 that Wonder of the Seas will set sail from Shanghai and Hong Kong, China in 2022 on 4- to 9-night adventures through the Far East, including Japan.
The 18-deck high, 1187 foot long, 130,000 gross tonnage Wonder of the Seas, the fifth in Royal Caribbean’s Oasis Class series, will be the largest cruise ship ever to set sail and is currently under construction in Saint-Nazaire, France.
Bookings have already opened for the ship’s inaugural season.
Royal Caribbean said that from March to November, Wonder of the Seas would sail roundtrip from Shanghai to Japan, where it would call at Osaka they can immerse themselves in the local sights and sounds. From pleasing their palate in Osaka, Fukuoka, Okinawa and Tokyo.

From November, Wonder will transition to warmer climates and homeport in Hong Kong through January 2023, with destination lineups including Chan May, Vietnam; Busan and Jeju, South Korea; Kochi and Okinawa, Japan; and Taipei, China.

Wonder of the Seas 2,867 staterooms can accommodate up to 6,988 guests.
The newest ship in the Royal Caribbean fleet has several signature amenities and is designed with eight “neighborhoods” including Central Park, the first living park at sea, home to 20,000 plants, and the Pool & Sports Zone with the Ultimate Abyss, the tallest slide at sea; and a 25-meter zip line 10 decks above the Boardwalk neighborhood.
